We got her at Petsmart. This is the story…

Me and my mom were going to get dog food and we didn't know it was pet adoption day. We were looking at the cats and dogs, taking pics and sending them to my dad and he was joking and said "let's get one". We did not know he was joking. So my mom said, "Well he didn’t say no." So we adopted her. We named her Cookie because she looked like an oreo cookie.

Sophia Meets Penny

How I got Penny

This is a story about a dog you have seen. A dog you have heard. A dog you know. Penny is the best dog ever and this is how I got her: Wednesday, December 16, I was coming home from the orthodontist, and I heard a pitter patter pitter patter on the floor. Since my parents were talking about getting a dog, I asked "Did we get a dog..?" and sure enough, Penny (Who was at the time, Queen Elsa) came running up to me and she jumped up on me and knocked me over! After that, she knocked Allyson over! It was so funny. Then my dad came in the room and said "She loves you! She can tell your an animal lover." Oh yeah, and my dad wanted to call Penny, Marica. Isn't that weird!? I know. Me, my mom, and Allyson wanted to call her Penny because she had copper fur, like a penny, golden eyes, and was beautiful. Also, my dad got her at the SPCA. I hope you liked my blog, after you comment, go play prodigy!

Colin Goes to the Big City!

Colin’s Trip to San Francisco

My family and I went to San Francisco. The first thing we did was go to the Exploratorium. We did a lot of fun and cool things there.  My favorite exhibit was the parabolic mirror. It made things upside down and 3D.

Then we got to eat at the Exploratorium and I had noodles. Then we left to go to Pier 39.  It was raining all day but we walked around anyway. We went to the magic shop and I got a magic trick. It’s called the wonder deck.  

We also were trying to find a stuff animal for my sister but we got her cotton candy instead. We went to look at the sea lions. We also tried to look at Alcatraz but the telescope would not work.

We went to eat dinner after that at Bubba Gumps.  My favorite food to eat there is shrimp mac and cheese. After dinner, it was time we went home. We wanted to do more things but it was raining too much. I hoped you liked my blog!

P.S My sister and I ate the cotton candy in the car on the way home.

Mariana goes to UC Davis

Mariana's trip to UC Davis 

Hi my name is Mariana and I'll be talking about my trip to UC Davis. UC Davis is filled with students walking and jogging everywhere. There is a lot of nature and you can mostly see squirrels and ducks. The aggies stadium is huge, it looks like it can fit like over 1,000 people or even more. There are lots of trails to walk on. My parents and I decided to go on one. We saw lots of ducks in the water and they were so cute. My parents took pictures of me next to the stream with the ducks.

I also noticed that there are more bikes than cars. After we walked so long and so far my parents noticed that we got lost. We asked for directions to the library from a UC Davis student and we started asking her questions and she told us that she is the only one in her family to come all the way from Ecuador to the USA and she especially came to UC Davis to study. She is 19 years old and her name is Ana Maria. Many students live in dorms or apartments right next to the main campus. The student said everyone in the campus was very nice and friendly. Most of the students of UC Davis own bikes and they ride them to get to their classes. My parents said that we might go again next week . I want to go to UC Davis when i'm in college.

Haleigh plays piano after school!

Hi my name is Haleigh and I will be talking about an after school enrichment program I've been doing for the last 3 months. This is my first time to play piano. I learned a lot so far and I just finished the Premier level and now I'm on the first level. Piano is pretty hard to learn, you really have to have patience. One of my favorite songs that I played so far is Yanke Doddle. It sounds really good. This coming week is my 4th session so far and I would like to continue playing.

The Sports and Book Combo!!

Hi I am Zach and this is my blog.

Sports:  

The sport I play in the winter is Basketball. I love Basketball because it is very physical, and I like physical sports. When you play basketball it is like learning because there is like a 2–3 zone or a 3–2 zone or a man-to-man defense.

The sport I play in the spring is Baseball. I love Baseball because you can play against a good team one week or a bad team one week.

The sport I play in the summer is Swim team. I love Swim team because before the match, it is really cold, but once you dive in the water, it feels like you don’t want to get out of the water.

The sport I play in the fall is soccer. I love soccer because it feels good when the wind is blowing through my hair.

Books:  

The books I like to read is the Harry Potter series, also books about sports, like Dino-Basketball, the life of Hank Greenberg, and The Big Book Of Why Sports Edition. I also like historical fiction like the I Survived series, and fiction like Arabian Nights. I like books because reading makes me feel calm.
