Academic Update 11/15/2014

We haven't had a Academic Update Blog post in awhile. Here is a brief update of what we've been doing in third grade and some pictures from the last couple weeks.

ELA:
We finished reading the book Edward Tulane. -Showmen
We started reading Marty McGuire Digs Worms by Kate Messner. -James

Math:
We took the subtraction test. -Sean
We started multiplication. -Justin
In math we made equal groups with chocolate chips and beans. -Emma
We did multiplication with beans. Meghana

Science:
We started our Ocean Biome projects. -Laiba
Ms. Steinlein put us in expert groups for our Ocean Biome animal. -Ava
In our Ocean Biome Unit we are finishing our ocean biome pages. -Keara
We are writing a full paragraph about our ocean animal. -Ava
We played a jeopardy like game with the ocean animals. -Showmen

Art:
In Art, we started weaving and finger knitting. -Audrey

Specials:
We skyped with 2 authors; Kate Messner and Tara Lazar. -Justin
We are going to have an electronic party. -Natalie
We will have a mystery reader today. Kaleb
The class had a substitute for 4 days! -Ava
On Tuesday we observed Veterans Day and had no school. -Ava
Today is Kaleb's birthday. -Meghana
