Academic Update: February 20th, 2015

It has been so long since we have blogged! We have been so busy this year so far! Here is a small glimpse of what we've been doing in 3rd grade!

English Language Arts
This week we earned our ice cream party because everyone passed their multiplication tests. -Audrey
We are working on writing our desert comparatives  -James
During spelling, we learned prefixes. -Deonta
The green for spelling group, learned how to e-drop! -Justin
We did writers workshops where we do word work, literatures circles, reading, and writing. -Britney

Math
We started fractions this week. -Kaleb
We finished up our geometry unit. -Natalie
We started a measurement unit and third grade is creating measurement presentations. -Ava & Lizzy
There was a measurement and fractions scavenger hunt homework. -Ava

Science:
The class is learning about the desert biome. -Meghana
We did our desert biome pages and we are mostly finished. -Roman

Field Trip: 
We went to UC Davis to see Joseph Bruchac a famous author. -Ava

Specials: 
It was valentines day and we got candy. -Matthew
We learned how to write compliments to each other! -Ms. Steinlein
Today we are having an electronic party! -Showmen
We got paid for our old jobs and got new class jobs. -Emma
We joined the Kindness Club and participated in Kindness Week. -Laiba
Mrs. Kloczko came to talk to us about cell phones at school. -Kaleb
