September 5 Academic Update

This week was short so this will be a very quick post! Check out what is going on in 3rd Grade this week.

PE:
We did Crossfit again with my dad! -Emma
We did fit Friday! -Justin
We played kick ball with Ms. Fraser. -James

Social Studies: 
We finished the group project! Yay! -Laiba
The symbols we used for the group projects are Liberty Bell, The Flag, Mount Rushmore, The Statue of Liberty, and Bald Eagle. -Lizzy
We took our government (open-notes) test. -Sean
The goal of this open-note assessment was to help reinforce that there is an abundance of information posted around the room on posters and in our notes. The students just need to know where to look!  -Ms. Steinlein


English Language Arts:
We're learning about why readers ask questions. -Showmen
Today we read the books Trupp and  No Moon No Milk and practiced asking questions. -Keara
We are going to have a reading log check in and celebration. -Ava
We got into our 3rd grade spelling groups! -Britney
The spelling groups are differentiated to fit each student's spelling needs! -Ms. Steinlein
Yellow Group:

Math: 
This week we are rounding up and down to the nearest ten. -Britney
We are still learning about rounding. -Meghanna

Art:
We finished our Flying People art project. -Laiba

Specials: 
We were off for Labor Day! -Kaleb
We are going to have our first Oak Store! -Isaac
We're showing empathy to each other. -Owen
We are going to finish our first week favorite books...finally. -Ava
We will have our 2nd Mystery Reader today! -Roman
Grandma Jean (Justin's Grandma) was an AMAZING Mystery Reader! I was so happy to have her come share with the kiddos! -Ms. Steinlein
